STRIP OUT
The cab of our 110 was pretty standard. Not too much to change here except creating some storage for maps, camera, etc etc. |
The water board had fitted a storage system in the rear of the vehicle. This comprised a roller drawer and storage bins each side (the one on the right is just visable). |
This Landy even came with hot running water!! |
After much discussion and debate I finally convinced my mates that the orange flashing light had to go! Sorry Bab! The extractor fan was soon to follow to make way for the roof rack. What we did not count on was the 100mm diameter hole in the roof that it would leave. Nothing a piece of aluminum and a spray can cold not fix though. |
Riaan was still smiling at this stage. This was before he figured out that he would be the one helping Bruce with all the hard work! Fortunately Riaan is an engineer and will come in very handy! |
Stripping this system out took longer than we thought it would. 10 years of hard work had really taken its toll on all the fixings. |
Here you can see the storage bins on each side of the roller drawer. These have been removed and set aside for later. |
The old storage system removed. Into the garage it goes until we figure out what we need and what we don't. |
The front seats come out and the cab gets a good clear out and clean. 10 years of grease and grime make this a job for Se the champion cleaner! |
There was a load of wiring throughout the vehicle for the add-ons that the water board had installed such as the flashing light, 12v out lets, water heater etc. As we will be installing a new dual battery system this all had to be stripped out. |
