We had been doing a lot of work on mbhejane and decided that we needed to test out the packing system, tent etc and also have a good long run to try and flush out any mechanical problems that were lurking below the surface! We decided to go to France to see if we could also get a little late summer sun at the same time!! We took the ferry from Newhaven to Dieppe and then traveled down to Bordeaux and back over a week. Great great fun!

We had not given him a good clean in a while and he was looking a bit scruffy. We found this car wash at a supermarket we visited to thought we would give the big fella a scrub!

First nights camp was in Samur on the Loire River. Beautiful place.

We had noticed a speed wobble that was getting worse at between 50 & 60mph. We thought we would see if it was one of the wheels that was unbalanced so swapped them around with the spare. No difference though so we spent the rest of the trip wondering what it could be. Either bearings, prop shaft uj's or maybe the resistance from the roof rack and roof tent....??

Heading over the river to watch the South Africa v USA game. Being a Sunday all the bars closed before the game came on! Seriously bummed!

The Chateau in Samur

On the way down to Bordeaux we found this great little campsite in rural countryside and right in amongst the vineyards. Only bad thing was the mozzies!
